Boerne is the county seat and largest city in Kendall County. Founded in 1852, Boerne has a population of around 17,000 residents. The city is known for its historic downtown centered around Main Street, which features antique shops, boutiques, and restaurants housed in old stone and brick buildings. Boerne is located along Cibolo Creek and has numerous city parks for outdoor recreation. Major attractions include the Cibolo Nature Center and Herff Farm.
Sisterdale
Sisterdale is a small rural community along the Sister Creek in the northern part of Kendall County. It was established in 1847 by German immigrants. Kendalia
Kendalia is a very small unincorporated town located along FM 473 in Kendall County. It was settled in the mid-1800s by German and Polish immigrants. Today, Kendalia consists of a few homes, some ranch land, and the historic Kendalia Store. The former one-room Kendalia school building now serves as a community center.
