Coral Springs is a city located in the county of Broward in the U.S. state of Florida. Its population at the 2010 census was 121,096 and a population density of 1,949 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 133,519 inhabitants.

The city was created 61 years ago in 1962.

Coral Springs was incorporated in 1963 and developed as a planned residential community. Early promoters highlighted its family-friendly orientation and modern amenities.

Houses and parks were built first to establish the city's layout and identity. This helped attract young professionals out of nearby Fort Lauderdale seeking affordable suburban homes with good schools.

Major growth occurred from 1970 to 2000 as Coral Springs' population boomed. It evolved into a full-scale city with economic and cultural offerings beyond housing.
