The main landmark of East LA is Cesar E. Chavez Avenue, formerly Brooklyn Avenue. This thoroughfare goes through the civic center of East LA which includes City Terrace and East Los Angeles Civic Center. This area has beautiful 1920s era Spanish Colonial Revival architecture and murals depicting Latino culture and history.
