Ashland
Ashland is the county seat and only city in Ashland County. It was settled in the early 1800s and named after statesman Henry Clay’s estate. Historic sites include the Longaberger Homestead and John Campbell Mansion. Downtown Ashland has unique shops, restaurants, and the Paramount Arts Center.
Loudonville is a small village along the Mohican River that brands itself as the “Canoe Capital of Ohio.” It has liveries and outfitters for river recreation. Historic landmarks include the Ohio Theatre and the Loudonville Fairgrounds. An annual Mohican Pow-Wow is held here.
Perrysville is a rural village northeast of Ashland settled in the 1820s. It is known for the Richland County Fair held here each August. The Black Fork Commons Park provides a nice spot for fishing and walking trails.
