Woodridge is a city located in the county of DuPage in the U.S. state of Illinois. Its population at the 2010 census was 32,971 and a population density of 3,368 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 33,329 inhabitants.
Woodridge is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, with small portions in Will and Cook counties, and a south-western suburb of Chicago. The village is just north of the I-55 junction with IL-53. It uses the 630 and 331 area codes.
The village was incorporated on February 21, 1959. As of the 2000 census, there were 28,342 people residing in Woodridge. The population density was 1,071.9 people per square mile (415.4/km²). There are about 6,350 households in Woodridge that have an average size of 3.20 people per household (2010).
Woodridge is served by two school districts: Community Unit School District 200 and Community Consolidated School District 15. It has one high school: Woodridge High School; three middle schools: Veterans Memorial Middle School, Harry S Truman Middle School and Green Acres Middle School; and six elementary schools: Jackson Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School, Washington Elementary School, Roosevelt Elementary School (Kindergarten), Truman Elementary School and Dwight D Eisenhower Elementary.
The community has an unemployment rate of 2.8%, which is lower than the national average and indicates that there are plenty of jobs available in this area. The village has been recognized by Money Magazine as one of the top places in America to live based on its affordability and quality of life. In addition, Woodridge was chosen as one of America's best places for families by Parenting Magazine because it offers such great amenities for families as well as low crime rates and excellent schools!
