Tallahassee is a city located in the county of Leon in the U.S. state of Florida. Its population at the 2010 census was 181,376 and a population density of 671 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 196,326 inhabitants.

The city was created 200 years ago in 1823.

As Florida's capital city, Tallahassee blends Southern charm with a youthful vibe thanks to two major universities. In addition to government and academia, Tallahassee offers history, culture, and outdoor recreation to enjoy.

Government Institutions

As the state capital, Tallahassee is home to Florida's State Capitol building, an architectural landmark with a towering dome and Statue of Freedom atop the rotunda. Visitors can tour the Senate and House chambers and view the Florida Legislative Research Center and Museum.

The Florida Governor's Mansion offers behind-the-scenes mansion tours showcasing the state's political history. The Florida Supreme Court building provides free access to court proceedings.
