History

The first buildings in Nampa were constructed around the 1880s. It was officially incorporated as a village in 1893.

Irrigation brought an agricultural boom at the turn of the century. Nampa grew significantly after the Oregon Short Line Railroad established tracks through town in 1903.

Nampa continued to expand through the 20th century, transitioning from a small farming town into a diverse industrial city. It was officially designated as a city in 1919.
