Lincoln is a town located in the county of Middlesex in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. Its population at the 2010 census was 6,362 and a population density of 424 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 6,993 inhabitants.

The town was created 374 years ago in 1649.

Lincoln is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. The population was 7,014 according to the 2020 United States Census, including residents of Hanscom Air Force Base that live within town limits. The town's name may have been inspired by or suggested by Lincolnshire County in England.

The area has been inhabited since at least 1671 when 14 families settled there under grant from Governor Simon Bradstreet. It was incorporated as a town in 1772 from parts of Concord and Sudbury. 

Lincoln is part of the Greater Boston area and is bordered by Concord and Lexington on the west, Waltham on the north and east, Sudbury on the south and Wayland on the south-southwest.

The town center is at an elevation of 79 meters above sea level. Lincoln lies along the Old Sudbury River, which flows from Lincoln into Assabet River before emptying into Concord River. The highest point in Lincoln is 183 meters above sea level at Peters Hill in the northern part of town.

The town is at the center of a large technology corridor encompassing Bedford, Lexington and Waltham that forms a major element of the Route 128 high technology belt. In addition to its own airport and several smaller ones, Hanscom Air Force Base is located within town limits and has an active runway system for military use.
