La Crosse is a city on the Mississippi River, in western Wisconsin. It has been called one of the most underrated cities in America, and it's easy to see why. La Crosse is home to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UWL), which has over 10,000 students and is one of the oldest universities in the state. The city itself has a population of over 50,000 people and offers all the amenities you could want: great schools, beautiful neighborhoods with lots of space between them, access to outdoor activities like hiking and biking right in your backyard—and it's only an hour away from Madison and Milwaukee!
La Crosse sits at an elevation of 204 meters above sea level—which means that it gets pretty cold here during winter months! But once you've had enough of winter's long months (we get about 110 inches of snow each year), spring makes its way back into town and everything starts greening up again—and then summer rolls around with its hot days and cool nights!
La Crosse has a population of 51,543 (2020), and its mayor is Mitch Reynolds. The area code is 608.
