About

Kingston is a Canadian city on Lake Ontario, at the mouth of the Cataraqui and St. Lawrence rivers. It's known as the "Limestone City" for its grand 19th-century buildings, including the lakeside Kingston City Hall. The city has a rich history that dates back to 1673 when French explorer Jean Talon built a fur trading post there. The city was named after Major General Sir Isaac Brock who was killed at the Battle of Queenston Heights during the War of 1812.
