Hartford County is a county located in the U.S. state of Connecticut. As of the 2010 census, the population was 894,014 and a population density of 460 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 county had an estimated population of 889,226 inhabitants. Its county seat is Hartford. The county was created 358 years ago in 1665.
Hartford County is located in central Connecticut and contains the state capital city of Hartford. It is part of the Greater Hartford metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, Hartford County has a population of around 890,000 people.
The county covers about 751 square miles of land along the Connecticut River. It was founded in 1785 and named after Hartford, its largest city.
