Harlingen: The most populous city in Cameron County, Texas. It is located on the Gulf of Mexico in extreme southern Texas. Harlingen is known for its many beaches, its many parks and green spaces, and its many attractions, such as the Harlingen Arts and Heritage Museum and the Harlingen International Airport.

Harlingen is a city located in the county of Cameron in the U.S. state of Texas. Its population at the 2010 census was 64,849 and a population density of 1,609 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 65,176 inhabitants.

The city was created 120 years ago in 1903.

Harlingen is a city in Cameron County in the central region of the Rio Grande Valley of the southern part of the U.S. state of Texas, about 30 miles from the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. It is home to many businesses and industries as well as several colleges, including Texas Southmost College and Harlingen Public High School. The city's population was 65,028 at the 2020 census.

Harlingen was founded by W. T. Blocker and J.O. Schulze in 1906 as an agricultural community with five acres and a few houses on each acre. As of 2015, it has a population of over 65,000 people (up from 45,000 people in 2000).

The city's name comes from a railroad station called Harlin Station that was named for W.T. Blocker's father-in-law Dora Harlin, who owned property in the area where the station was built. The original site for Harlin Station is called Old Town today, but it has since been replaced by downtown.
