Guadalupe County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 131,533 and a population density of 17 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 county had an estimated population of 170,608 inhabitants. Its county seat is Santa Rosa. The county was created 133 years ago in 1891.
Guadalupe County is located in south central Texas, bisected by the Guadalupe River. It was established in 1846, just after Texas became a U.S. state. The county is named after the Guadalupe River.
The city of Seguin became the county seat in 1853. Seguin was settled by German immigrants and named after Juan Seguín, a Texas Revolutionary War hero.
