Fullerton is a city located in the county of Orange in the U.S. state of California. Its population at the 2010 census was 135,161. After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 139,921 inhabitants.

The city was created 137 years ago in 1886.

Fullerton was founded in 1887 by George and Edward Amerige and named after George Fullerton, who secured the land on behalf of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. Fullerton was incorporated as a city in 1904.

The Valencia orange proved to be a major export crop for Fullerton in the early 20th century. Oil was also discovered nearby in the 1920s, fueling additional growth. Fullerton flourished as an agricultural hub and center of citrus production for decades.
