Danville is a city located in the county of Vermilion in the U.S. state of Illinois. Its population at the 2010 census was 33,027 and a population density of 704 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 30,106 inhabitants.

The city was created 197 years ago in 1827.

Located in Vermilion County, Illinois, Danville is a city with a rich history and vibrant culture. The city was founded in 1826 by James Kinkead, who named it after his good friend George W. Danville of New Hampshire.
