Warner Robins is a city located in the county of Houston in the U.S. state of Georgia. Its population at the 2010 census was 66,588 and a population density of 706 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 78,601 inhabitants.
The city was created 82 years ago in 1942.
Warner Robins is a city in the U.S. state of Georgia, located in Houston and Peach counties in the central part of the state. It is currently Georgia's eleventh-largest incorporated city, with a census population of 80,308 in 2020.
The city was named after Colonel Thomas Royster Warner, who was instrumental in bringing a railroad line to this area from Atlanta. The railroad was constructed through some of his land and he donated some of his land for its construction. He also helped create an organization known as the "Robins Club," which promoted development of the community by raising money for civic improvements like schools and roads.
It is part of the Macon metropolitan area, which has a population of 474,923 and includes Bibb County and Jones County 19 miles south.
Warner Robins is also home to one of the largest Air Force bases in the world: Robins Air Force Base.The city was named after Major General Augustine Warner Robins (1896–1987), who was stationed at Robins Air Force Base as commander of the Air Force Logistics Command (1948–1949).
