The city was created 150 years ago in 1873.
Texarkana is a city in eastern Texas, with a twin city across the border in Arkansas. The city is divided by the state line, but it's easy to get to one side without crossing into another.
The Spring Lake Park has playgrounds, walking trails and sports fields—it's a great place to spend a day out with kids. If you're more interested in history and culture, head to the 19th-century Ace of Clubs House, now a museum, which is shaped like a playing-card club. Interactive children’s exhibits at Discovery Place include a sound wall and general store. Built in 1924, the Italian Renaissance–style Perot Theatre hosts musicals and concerts.
