New London County is a county located in the U.S. state of Connecticut. As of the 2010 census, the population was 274,055 and a population density of 137 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 county had an estimated population of 264,999 inhabitants. Its county seat is New London. The county was created 358 years ago in 1665.
New London County sits in the southeastern corner of Connecticut along the Long Island Sound. With a population around 263,000 as of 2020, it covers about 670 square miles.
The county was founded in 1666 and named after New London, its county seat and largest city. The Thames River runs through it.
