After 10 years in 2020 county had an estimated population of 839,706 inhabitants. Its county seat is Richmond. The county was created 186 years ago in 1837.
Fort Bend County is located along the Brazos River in southeastern Texas. It was established in 1837 as one of the original counties in the Republic of Texas.
The city of Richmond became the county seat in 1822 when Texas was still part of Mexico. It was incorporated under the name Richmond in 1837 after Texas won independence.
