College Park is a city located in the county of Prince George's in the U.S. state of Maryland. Its population at the 2010 census was 30,413. After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 32,173 inhabitants.

The city was created 168 years ago in 1855.

College Park is a city in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, and is approximately four miles from the northeast border of Washington, D.C. It is best known as the home of the University of Maryland, College Park.

The U.S. Census Bureau estimated that College Park's population was 32,221 in 2017 and 32,902 in 2018, making it the fourth largest incorporated area within Prince George's County after Laurel, Fort Washington (which has since been annexed by Bowie), and Greenbelt; however, it remains one of the smallest cities in terms of land area and population density in Maryland. The population was 34,740 at the 2020 United States Census.

The university's campus is spread across 408 acres (1.66 km²) of rolling hills overlooking the East-West Highway (MD Route 295), which connects College Park with Washington and Baltimore; this highway runs directly through campus. The university also has a satellite campus at Shady Grove in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

It is an unincorporated area that falls within both College Park and Greenbelt postal codes; however, it is not served by any municipal governments.
